The Broncos made plenty of big defensive plays against the Saints on Sunday, but they saved the best for last.

After New Orleans quarterback connected with for a touchdown pass to tie the game at 23-all, Denver rookie Justin Simmons came up huge on the subsequent play.

Leaping over the center on the extra-point try, Simmons blocked the extra-point kick and safety Will Parks recovered the ball and ran it back to the opposing end zone to give the Broncos two points, securing Denver a 25-23 win.

Did Parks step out of bounds? The referee didn’t think so. .

Dean Blandino, the NFL’s senior vice president of officiating, broke down the play on Twitter with a video explanation.
