Interview with Dan Driver, vice president
Q: How did you get involved in this business?
:Jill and Dan purchased Ages & Stages Toy Box in 2010 and re-named it JAKE’s Toy Box in honor of their deceased son, Jake. More can be found on our website.
Q: What distinguishes you from other businesses in your category?
:Our people. We also have the largest G-Scale train setup in all of Colorado, if not most of the western U.S. We also have a Zoltar machine and a NAO Robot from Aldeberan Robotics.
Q: What do you like best about your line of work?
:I love what I do. Owning a toy store is not just a fulfillment of our commitment to Jake but also a fulfillment of a dream of my own. We are now working on making something that survives us and provides employment opportunities, especially to those with special needs, for many years to come.
Q: What is your business’ biggest challenge?
:Getting the word out about who we are and what we’re about to more and more people all the time.
Q: Something people might be surprised to learn about you or your business:
:Especially for those that have not been, JAKE’s is worth the drive. We have an online store, but when you visit, you’ll see why it’s different. We are also becoming known more as a resource tool for parents of kids with special needs, especially when it comes to toy recommendations.
