A dead man’s body found floating in the Arkansas River near La Junta on Sunday morning has drawn the attention of three law enforcement agencies.
Otero County sheriff’s deputies are investigating after receiving a 911 notification from somebody in the area near Colorado 109 and Colorado 50. The Otero authorities requested Colorado Bureau of Investigation help, CBI spokeswoman Susan Medina said.
No identity was given.
El Paso County authorities are involved, performing an autopsy on the corpse, Medina said, to determine the cause of death.
