The Broncos have had issues at the right tackle position since the start of the preseason, but the extent of the problems were laid bare for the second consecutive game Sunday night. Quarterback Trevor Siemian took hit after hit in the first half against Kansas City.

Second-year pro started in place of Donald Stephenson against the Chiefs, but Sambrailo struggled early and was replaced by Stephenson midway through the second quarter.

“I thought (Stephenson) came in and played well,” Broncos coach said. “Obviously, a challenge with both of those guys, to see who’s going to play the best. … We all know that Ty struggled early in the game. We put Stephenson in — he was going to play either way — and I think he played in a way that said, ‘Leave me in the game.’ Good to see him take a step forward. We’ll keep battling there. But good to see him come in and respond.”

Kilgo claimed. The Patriots were awarded former Broncos nose tackle off waivers on Monday. Kilgo, a sixth-round pick by the Broncos in 2015, was waived last week to clear a roster spot for long snapper Thomas Gafford.
