
The 28-year-old man convicted earlier this year of killing a Colorado State Patrol cadet and injuring a trooper in a crash near Longmont was sentenced Tuesday to life in prison plus an additional 342 years.
Christopher Gebers, of Federal Heights, received his sentence from Boulder District Judge Ingrid Bakke after more than two hours of testimony from the victims’ families as well as his apology to those family members.
“This was no accident, it was a crash, meaning that decisions were made that resulted in tragedy, but not accidentally,” Bakke said in imposing her sentence.
