There is so much political rhetoric about “protecting our children and future generations” when it comes to legislative issues. Having a school seat belt law in Colorado is needed, and not a debatable issue. Our kids are smart enough to know that wearing seat belts in cars can protect them; however, their parents and legislators don’t appear to be so smart. Itap reported that only six states have school bus seat belt laws. Colorado needs to become the seventh state in 2017. I’m calling upon a Colorado legislator to initiate such legislation and asking for the support of the entire General Assembly. There is no dollar amount one can put on the lives of our children.
