Colorado Rapids defender Axel Sjoberg was named to the 2016 MLS Best XI, which honors the league’s top players at each position.

Sjoberg, 25, was second in the league with 162 clearances and was part of a Rapids defense that allowed an MLS-low 32 goals this season.

The team was determined by media, MLS players and MLS club staff.

Sjoberg is the fifth Colorado player to receive the honor, joining John Spencer (2001, 2003), Mark Chung (2002-03), Joe Cannon (2004) and Conor Casey (2009).
