Butting in. A Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a shopping center in the 2000 block of Evergreen Parkway in response to possible harassment. The reporting party works at the shopping center and said an employee of another business harasses her about smoking in her vehicle. On Nov. 19, she found a pile of cigarette butts in the driver’s seat of her vehicle. The deputy contacted the suspect, who admitted to putting the butts there in response to the reporting party’s routine littering. He was cited for criminal tampering.

Suspected burglar rings once. A homeowner in the 30000 block of Alta Vista Drive, Evergreen, reported Nov. 21 that he was awakened around midnight by the doorbell ringing. He went to the door and saw a young white male wearing a bandanna over his face with his hand near the doorknob. When the homeowner turned on the porch light, the suspect ran down the driveway where the homeowner saw another male. The homeowner said he had just returned from vacation and believed the men were trying to burglarize his home.

Mailbox vandalism, theft. A Jeffco deputy was dispatched to the 2000 block of Hiwan Drive, Evergreen, on Nov. 20 on a report of mailbox vandalism. Two residents said they just replaced their mailbox after it was vandalized and were in their home when they heard a loud bang. They looked out a window and saw a vehicle leaving the area and a dent in their new mailbox. They could not identify the vehicle. The deputy noted in the report other similar incidents in the area and mail theft in nearby neighborhoods.

Car egged. On Nov. 20, a woman reported that her car had been egged the night before while parked in the 20000 block of Troutdale Scenic Drive, Evergreen. There were no suspects, but the woman thought she was victimized for having a Hillary Clinton presidential campaign sign in her yard.

Business egged. The owner of Da Kind Soups, 27883 Meadow Drive, Evergreen, found eggs smashed the front of the building sometime the night of Nov. 20. There were no suspects.
