A 16-year-old boy was arrested Thursday night in Colorado Springs on suspicion of shooting a man in the head and back last month in Fountain.
The teen was taken into custody about 5 p.m. by SWAT officers and booked into the Spring Creek Juvenile Facility jail on suspicion of attempted first-degree murder.
The boy is accused of shooting an 18-year-old man on Nov. 19 in Fountain in the area of the 600 block of South Santa Fe Avenue. The victim was taken to Memorial Hospital with life-threatening injuries, but has since been treated and released from medical care, Fountain police say.
Investigators say they also recovered evidence during the Thursday night arrest, but did not elaborate. The teen suspect was taken into custody without incident.
