Need to borrow a giant Connect 4, VR goggles or a truck? Heck yeah, Fluid is from Denver!

Giant Connect 4's and other items most consumers don't have lying around the house can be rented for a fee using the community-sharing app Fluid. Got one to loan? Set your own price but be reasonable and stay smart when meeting with strangers.

Those giant Connect 4 games look so fun, but owning one will probably cramp your (tiny house) style. That’s where community-sharing app Fluid comes in. The Denver startup is all about loaning items between friends — and nearby strangers.

Need an extra pair of HTC Vive virtual-reality goggles? Beatrice in Englewood will rent one with a PC and monitor for $38 a day. How about a pickup truck? Niki in Denver has a Chevy for $2 an hour. Oh, and that giant Connect 4? It’s $5 a day.

Fluid uses payment service Stripe for financial transactions and takes 20 percent of the rental fee. That covers (minus vehicles) up to $1 million in case a borrower damages the items. Safety tips are common sense — — plus Fluid verifies users by mobile number and credit card. Renting items on an app appears to be catching on.

In November, the company said it from friends, family and venture firms like Grotech Ventures, New Enterprise Associates and Correlation Ventures.
