The Broncos released running back Terrell Watson from the practice squad and signed running back Zac Brooks in his place.

Brooks was selected by the Seahawks in the seventh round (No. 247) of the 2016 draft out of Clemson. He spent two separate stints on the Seahawks’ practice squad, as well as a couple of weeks on the Chiefs’ practice squad. In two preseason games with Seattle, he totaled six carries for 17 yards, plus one catch for four yards.

The 6-foot-1, 200-pound back, who redshirted his 2014 season because of a foot injury, had 115 carries for 599 yards and five touchdowns, plus 18 catches for 205 yards and three touchdowns in his three seasons at Clemson. But he impressed at his Pro Day with a 4.45-second 40-yard dash, which would have ranked as the third-fastest among running backs at the 2016 NFL scouting combine, and a 36-inch vertical jump, which would have been seventh-best at the combine.
