Interview with Heidi Lawrence, owner
Q: How did you get involved in this business?
:I worked at animal hospitals and clients would come in needing a petsitter. After petsitting part-time for several years, I was able to build up enough of a clientele to turn Giggly Paws Petsitting into a full-time business.
Q: What distinguishes you from other businesses in your category?
:I think everyone who loves pets thinks they can be successful at petsitting, but that’s not always the case. Giggly Paws holds a high standard of work ethic offering timed visits, photos and updates each visit, a detailed checklist for every job and an ongoing effort to offer our clients peace of mind for their house and pets while they’re away. We are very reasonably priced and offer discount punch-cards for the convenience of our clients.
Q: What do you like best about your line of work?
:Being able to take care of the animals who need me.
Q: What is your business’ biggest challenge?
:Probably timing out routes and schedules. We want to get to as many critters as possible, while making sure everyone gets their full 30 or 60 minute visits.
Q: Something people might be surprised to learn about you or your business:
:I think the longevity always surprises people. This has been my full-time job for 13 years, seven days a week. I’m very passionate about this business and am willing to put in the blood, sweat and tears to keep it operating in two states.
