A man in a wheelchair was hit by a vehicle Wednesday night in southeast Denver.
The incident happened at about 6:45 p.m. near the intersection of East Quincy Avenue and South Tamarac Street, according to the Denver Police Department.
The man was crossing Quincy southbound when he was hit by an eastbound vehicle. He suffered “critical” injuries, police said, and was taken to a hospital.
The driver, who remained at the scene, was arrested on suspicion of vehicular assault. An investigation is ongoing.
Eastbound Quincy was closed in the area by the incident. Drivers should avoid the area if possible.
