Interview with Antonia Pappas, owner
Q: How did you get involved in this business?
:I’ve been in retail most of my career, from sales to buyer. Basically I was bitten by the retail bug early and I really enjoy it. It finally became time to try my hand at owning a shop.
Q: What distinguishes you from other businesses in your category?
:Vouna specializes in U.S.-made products including women’s clothing. Having been in retail most of my life — including product development — it became important for me to show my customers that being able to shop affordable U.S.-made goods was possible.
Q: What do you like best about your line of work?
:It’s a tie between meeting and interacting with customers, and meeting and interacting with the makers whose goods I carry in the shop.
Q: What is your business’ biggest challenge?
:Foot traffic shoppers — Olde Town Arvada is becoming known for its great restaurants, breweries and bars. I’m hoping to help put it on the map as a shopping destination.

:People are always surprised to hear that all of the clothing is made in America.
