A multi-vehicle crash closed Interstate 70 on the east side of the Eisenhower Tunnel for hours Wednesday as conditions in the high country were troublesome.
The Colorado Department of Transportation closed the westbound lanes before the tunnel and also the eastbound lanes of I-70 at Silverthorne at 10:23 a.m. That section reopened just before 1 p.m. However, there are other closures along the interstate in the mountains.

A KCNC-4 reporter on scene east of the Eisenhower-Johnson tunnels said three people were being treated for injuries: a woman who is seven-months pregnant, another person with shoulder pain and a third with chest pains.
Officials said it was a “safety closure due to multiple accidents east of the Eisenhower Tunnel.”
The interstate over Vail Pass going eastbound was closed at 12:30 p.m. because of crashes. No time for it to reopen was announced.
This is a developing story that will be updated.
