Mystery driver. A woman walking her dog on Dec. 22 in the 7400 block of West 84th Way, Arvada, noticed a man that she assumed was her boyfriend driving out of the neighborhood in her car, but when she arrived back home, her boyfriend was there.The car was stolen despite the locked doors and a steering wheel lock. The boyfriend told police his sister was a heroine addict and had previously stolen cars, but officers could not connect her to the theft. With no other leads the case status remains inactive.
Shopper in a hurry. Arvada police were called to King Soopers, 8031 Colorado State Highway 121, Dec. 23 in response to a traffic altercation. An aggravated driver honked and tapped the rear bumper of the car in front of him because he felt they were taking too long to park. The driver in the front car got out and confronted the angry driver who then punched him in the face. The assaulting driver received a municipal summons for assault.
Passport please. A man visiting Lowes, 5405 Wadsworth Blvd., Arvada, on Dec. 23 became aggravated when his passport was refused as proper identification per store policy. The suspect left and returned 20 minutes later attempting to use his passport once more. When refused again, the suspect told the cashier he was going to come back and beat her up. Police searched the surrounding area but could not locate the suspect.Parking problems. On Dec. 23 at Malone’s Clubhouse Grill, 14455 W. 64th Ave., Arvada, police were called in reference to a hit-and-run. A man came out of the restaurant to find a new, large dent on his truck. A witness came forward and said he saw another truck try to park in the adjacent parking spot. The witness said he warned the responsible driver that he was too close to the parked truck, but that the driver proceeded anyway. The drive struck the parked vehicle, left to park in a different spot and went into the restaurant. Police confronted the responsible party who said he hadn’t realized he’d hit the other car. He was cited with careless driving, failure to leave information after an accident and failure to notify the police of an accident.
