Interview with Lew Bobrick, owner
Q: How did you get involved in this business?
A: A passion for textiles, art , antiques and Native Americana that grew from collecting to a career.
Q: What distinguishes you from other businesses in your category?
A: Twenty-five years of experience and study have provided us with the knowledge and connoisseurship to offer a selection of material unlike anyone else in the metro area. Ninety-five percent of the material we offer is one-of-a kind, handmade and everything is guaranteed to be as described and authentic.
Q: What do you like best about your line of work?
A: I have the opportunity to curate interesting objects of art and material culture and interact with people who appreciate and seek to acquire them, and having “shopping all over the country” as my job description.
Q: What is your business’ biggest challenge?
A: The acquisition of quality merchandise, expanding our customer base and introducing others who happen in the shop to a new world or art and antiques.
Q: Something people might be surprised to learn about you or your business:
A: Along with art and antiques we have a large collection of Native Americana including silver and turquoise jewelry. We also do free informal appraisals of items brought into the shop and we accept consignments and are always looking to purchase quality material.
