Investigators outside a home in the 3400 block of West Colorado Avenue where the El Paso County Sheriff's Office served a search warrant at a home related to a homicide investigation.Roughly two weeks after he was seriously assaulted just west of Colorado Springs last month, a 58-year-old man has died.
The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office says Michael Dorland succumbed to complications related to his injuries in the Dec. 12 assault on the 3400 block of West Colorado Avenue
Deputies say a suspect in the assault has been identified, though they did not release that person’s name and said an investigation into the case remains ongoing.
Dorland was found by first responders with multiple injuries after the December assault. he died on Dec. 28.
Authorities have not said what precipitated the attack.
