CHILL OUT (AND IN): The world abounds with food coolers that keep perishables perky and beverages nice and icy on the go. But where are heat-sensitive medications, cosmetics and those all-important chocolate bars to chill out? Paging the Cool-It Caddy, a compact insulated polyester pouch with freezer gel packs stashed in its two internal zippered pockets.

At about 9 inches by 6 inches by 3 inches deep, this little cooler can stash in a tote bag, backpack or car glove compartment. The basic boxy Cool-It Caddy comes three variations: The poly-canvas Icepops, in neon shades of pink or green, has a wide sewn-in side handle; the faux-animal-patterned Contempo comes in cobalt blue, pewter or black and has a detachable carry strap; the Cool-It Caddy for Men is a no-nonsense basic black with a side grab handle.

The more shapely Bella Crossbody, which has a curved top and long detachable strap, can double as a purse, with or without the freezer packs. All the Cool-It Caddy’s have sturdy zippered closures and an external open pocket just the right size for a cell phone. Freeze just the ice packs or the entire Cool-It Caddy for maximum thermal oomph.
Cool-It Caddy costs $22 to $40, depending on style and material; at .
