For the second time in five years, World Wrestling Entertainment’s pinnacle showcase is headed to New Orleans.
WrestleMania 34 will take place at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome on April 8, 2018, . The WWE will host a news conference on Tuesday morning.
The Big Easy played host to WrestleMania XXX in 2014 in front of 75,167 fans. The even brought in $142.2 million in economic impact for the city.
“We’re just thrilled to have WrestleMania come back in a very short time period,” Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation president and CEO Jay Cicero told The Times-Picayune.
Last year’s WrestleMania at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas had a record-breaking attendance mark of 101,763, according to the WWE. This year, WrestleMania 33 will take place at Camping World Stadium on April 2 in Orlando, Fla.
