Heavy traffic on westbound Interstate 70 has slowed travel to the mountains Saturday but should be mostly favorable for drivers.

It is taking cars about 1 ½ to 2 hours to travel from Denver to the Eisenhower Tunnel, Colorado Department of Transportation spokesman Marc Aultman said.

“Itap all very typical,” Aultman said. “Nothing out of the ordinary certainly for this time of year.”

Road conditions should be favorable with light snow in Summit County, which is mostly dry with an occasional wet and icy area.

Although there was a crash early Saturday morning, the lanes have been cleared for a while, he said.
