Grandview boys basketball edges Eaglecrest in Centennial League thriller

The Wolves earned their first win over the Raptors since 2013 thanks to a furious second-half comeback at home

Senior Kain Mack’s floater in the lane with two seconds left gave No. 5 Grandview the 70-67 upset win over visiting No. 4 Eaglecrest on Friday night. The Wolves came back from a 20-point deficit to defeat the rival Raptors and improve to 11-1.

Senior Lechaun Duhart led the way for the Wolves with 19 points, while sophomore Dayne Prim had 11 points and and junior Ben Boone chipped in 10 points. Senior Colbey Ross had 24 points to pace the Raptors (9-3), with additional 12-point contributions from seniors Ikenna Ozor and Austin Forsberg.

Grandview is in action next at Overland on Jan. 18, while Eaglecrest hosts No. 6 Cherry Creek that same night.
