Volunteers of America will host the 32nd annual dinner Monday in commemoration of the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Avalanche players Blake Comeau and Tyson Barrie will serve meals to those in attendance.

More than 1,200 meals of ribs, green beans, potatoes and dessert will be served to all guests. All wishing to attend the event are welcome; the meal and event are free.

“This event epitomizes Dr. King’s belief that we are all one family and that, as a family, we should come together in fellowship and eat from the same table,” according to a VOA release.

The dinner at the VOA’s Sunset Park Senior Center will begin at 3 p.m.

In addition to dinner and music, Arc Thrift Stores will hand out free coats and warm clothing.
