Interview with Jeff Lester, owner

Q: How did you get involved in this business?
A:  I felt that there was a need for really good, quality pizza with fresh ingredients, including the dough. The cooking method and quality of ingredients of 1000 Degrees Pizzeria was by far the best I had tried from all of the new franchises and decided this was a great product and company.

Q: What distinguishes you from other businesses in your category?
A: 1000 Degrees Pizzeria has done their research and has invested in one of the best pizza ovens around. It is a custom, handmade revolving Neapolitan brick oven. The dough is made fresh, not frozen like other franchises, to cook to perfection in two minutes at 1000 degrees. It is also hand-stretched, which creates a thinner crispy base and raised outer edge crust rather than a flat-pressed pizza crust. The cheese is also specially selected to handle the heat. Our Neapolitan fire-roasted wings are cooked inside our oven and never fried. Quality ingredients and unlimited toppings for one flat-rate price allows the customer to explore the possibilities of pizza in a fast, fun, casual environment.

Q: What do you like best about your line of work?
A: Providing a great, quality pizza that has been positively received and liked.

Q: What is your business’ biggest challenge?
A: Getting everyone to know we are here and to stop by and try our pizza.

Q: Something people might be surprised to learn about you or your business:
A: Even though this is a franchise, I have lived in this community and raised my children in this area for the past 18 years. I love seeing old friends and neighbors who have come out to support our restaurant. It really feels like a neighborhood restaurant rather than just another franchise.
