Adams County prosecutors have charged a man with first-degree murder after deliberation  of 18-year-old Alonzo Devault.

Jose Luis Lozoya, 24, is accused in the killing in a parking lot near the 14500 block of East Colfax Avenue, just east of Interstate 225. Authorities say Devault was found suffering from multiple stab wounds and was later pronounced dead at Children’s Hospital Colorado.

Investigators have not said what motivated the encounter, or released details in the case. Police say they found Devault after responding to reports of a fight.

Lozoya is next due in court for a preliminary hearing on Feb. 21. He is being held without bond.

Authorities ask that anyone with information on the killing call Aurora police Detective Jamie Krieger at 303-739-6113.
