Man has all the drugs. Police responded to reports of two suspicious vehicles in the parking lot of Wendy’s, 5155 S. Broadway, Englewood, on Dec. 17. Officers contacted a 40-year-old man there who was in possession of cash, a scale, 12.6 grams of heroin, 9.5 grams of meth, 3.4 grams of cocaine and various pills. He was arrested as were two other suspects carrying lesser amounts of meth and heroin.

Walgreens walloping. An employee at Walgreens, 3080 S. Broadway, Engelwood, watched a man walk into the store Dec. 28  and begin taking items off the shelves and placing them directly into a bag he brought in with him. When confronted, the suspect punched the employee in the face, ran to his car and sped away.

In need of reinforcements. Someone stole 200 20-foot long pieces of Rebar from a construction site in the 9000 block of East Arapahoe Road, Greenwood Village, sometime between Dec. 23 and Jan. 3. The site manager theorized thieves would have needed a large trailer to take the long, steel bars. Total loss: $3,000.

Gone, baby, gone. A man’s Honda Civic disappeared from the first floor of the parking garage of his apartment complex, the Viridian Apartments, 5353 S. Valentina Way, Greenwood Village, overnight Jan. 3. There was no broken glass near the spot where he left the vehicle and he claimed he had locked it. Total loss: $1,500.

Mailbox maiming. On Jan. 13, a man returned to his home in the 5300 block of South Monaco Street, Greenwood Village, after a week out of town to find his mailbox had either been struck by a vehicle or smashed with a blunt object. He was unsure if it could be repaired.
