Suspect calls cops on himself. On Jan. 12, Denver police responded to an assault in the 2100 block of South Bellaire Street. The victim relayed that the suspect came into the office, flipped over his desk and struck him in the chest several times. The suspect then fled, but called police to tell them he was at a nearby gas station.
Salad bar also a victim. Police responded to a fight Jan. 11 at Country Buffet, 7407 E. 36th Ave., where a man was poked in the eye. The defendant had approached the victim over because he was angry over an incident and poked the victim in the eye. The victim then punched the suspect in self defense and the fight spilled into the salad bar, breaking the sneeze guard.
Garage door kicked. On Jan. 16, residents in the 2300 block of South Acoma Street called police after seeing a man kicking their garage door. The suspect had lived there previously, but moved a week before. He gained entry to the garage, but not the house, so he fled.
Stolen gun found. Police responded to a domestic dispute Jan. 17 in the 100 block of west 49th Avenue where the male suspect was reportedly driving a vehicle. Upon arriving, police noticed a vehicle matching the description and pulled the driver over. The driver said he was armed and upon seizing the weapon, police found the gun was reported stolen out of Lakewood last month.
Neighbor attacks neighbor. On Jan. 13, a man called police after he was involved in an altercation with his neighbor where the neighbor choked him. Police responded to the 100 block of East 16th Avenue and spoke to both the suspect and victim. The suspect was then taken into custody.
