Woman concerned about wooden horse. Jeffco deputies went to Arrowhead Manor Bed and Breakfast, 9284 U.S. 285, Morrison, on Jan. 13 on a report of a suspicious person. The business owner said a woman he thought was a past guest came asking to retrieve her items from a room. When the woman began stating it was animal cruelty that a wooden horse statue on the property was out in the snow, the owner realized she had not been a guest and asked her to leave. The owner then discovered a broken window, unplugged lights and security cameras, and an engraved rock was missing from the property.

Keys snatched at gas station. A man reported Jan. 8 that he went to a gas station in the 10000 block of West Belleview Avenue, Littleton, where he pumped gas and went into the store to pay. When he returned to his vehicle, he could not find his keys. The store’s manager reviewed  surveillance, which showed the man set his keys on the counter by the register and a man in line behind him picked them up and left the store.

Home Depot rental truck visits Big R. A representative of Big R, 25557 Conifer Road, Conifer, reported Jan. 13 that several wooden pallets were stolen overnight. He showed law enforcement security footage of a rented pickup truck from Home Depot pulling into the outdoor area where the pallets were stored and leaving the truck bed full of them.

Witnesses report hit-and-run. Golden Police went to the parking lot at 813 12th St., Golden, on Jan. 9 where three witnesses reported seeing a “work truck” enter the lot, park and then back out, hitting another vehicle in the lot. They said they tried to block the truck, driven by a man in his 40s with a “whisby” (sic) beard, from leaving but it sped off. Witnesses reported a license plate number but it came back registered to someone who did not match the driver’s description.
