An arrest has been made of a suspected bank robber who came to be known as the “Comic Con Bandit” because of Star Wars and Marvel superhero masks worn during robberies.

Gary Mark Crider, 49, is a suspect in five , according to the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office.

Crider, who is being held at the Jefferson County Jail, faces 12 felony counts including two counts of aggravated robbery, nine counts of robbery and one count of theft.

Between December 9, 2016 and January 6, 2017, Crider allegedly robbed three banks in Jefferson County, one in Boulder County and one in Adams County, the DA’s office said. The loss to banks in Jefferson and Boulder counties was more than $26,000.

Crider was arrested at a motel in Westminster on Jan. 11, prosecutors said. He was on federal probation and parole in Colorado at the time of his arrest.

Crider is being held in lieu of a $250,000 bond. His next court appearance is scheduled on Jan. 26.
