ASPEN — Swiss freeskier Luca Schuler was motionless Saturday night as he slid down the X Games big air ramp after slamming hard on the landing of his signature triple-cork 1080 jump.

Aspen Skiing Co. ski patrollers were with him before he came to a stop, bundling him in a sled and rushing him into a waiting ambulance.

ESPN spokesman Danny Chi said Schuler’s CT scans were negative.

“He was diagnosed with a concussion and will be discharged tonight,” Chi said in a statement.

The Monster Energy-sponsored, 19-year-old big air specialist from Zürich finished seventh in last year’s X Games Big Air contest as the youngest, at 18, and lightest, at 122 pounds, athlete in the field.

He finished 32nd in the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics slopestyle contest as the youngest member of the Swiss Freeskiing Team.

The X Games event was won by James Woods of Great Britain. Breckenridge skier Bobby Brown finished fourth in the jam-session style event.
