7-year-old girl struck by car near Northglenn elementary school

Child was treated and released at an area hospital; driver cited for careless driving

A 7-year-old girl was struck by a car while walking to Stukey Elementary School in Northglenn Monday morning.

The child was taken to a local hospital where she was treated and released, according to a news release by the Northglenn Police Department.

The driver was cited for careless driving, the news release says.

The auto-pedestrian accident happened at about 7:25 a.m. on the 11000 block of Grant Drive.

The female driver was northbound on Grant Drive when she crashed into the child in a crosswalk, according to the news release.
