Man found naked on golf course. On Jan. 15, Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to Evergreen Golf Course, 29614 Upper Bear Creek Road, Evergreen, on a report of a suspicious person. Near hole 8, they found a naked man lying in the grass yelling for help. He said he could not feel his feet and had been with a woman who stole his clothes. Deputies called the number the man gave for the woman, but it went to his father. They found shoes and sweatpants in the area, and the man’s unlocked car parked on a ramp near the lake. The man was transported to the emergency room for frostbite treatment.

Dine-and-dasher caught. A server at Carreta Vieja restaurant, 9064 U.S. 285, Morrison, reported Jan. 21 that a man dined at the restaurant and left without paying. The server provided the suspect’s license plate number and vehicle description. A Jeffco Sheriff’s deputy tracked the suspect to his home. When contacted, the suspect admitted to not paying, but gave conflicting reasons including the death of a grade school basketball coach’s wife and that he wanted to teach the server a lesson. He was served a summons for theft, but told that if he paid the next day the charges would be dropped.

Possible police impersonator. A woman reported Jan. 15 that she was followed by two people in a truck in the area of Belleview Avenue and Simms Street, Littleton, that flashed red, white and blute lights from its dashboard. She did not stop her vehicle and believed it was impersonating a law enforcement vehicle. A Jeffco Sheriff’s deputy searched the area but did not find the suspect vehicle.

Utility bill scam. The owner of a business in the 700 block of Cheyenne Street, Golden, reported she was victim of a phone scame. A person who called her business and claimed its electricity was overdue and risked electricity shut-off. The business owner called the number provided and was told she had to pay within the next 45 minutes, and that she should use a MoneyPark to pay the balance. After doing so, she realized it was likely a scam and reached a busy signal when she called the number back.
