Gunshots were fired at a pickup in Colorado Springs on Monday, killing one man and wounding another, police said.

At about 4:45 p.m. officers responded to the 6300 block of La Plata Peak Drive on a report of “multiple shots fired,” according to a Colorado Springs Police Department news release.

Responding officers were told that pickup had been fired at and the truck had left the scene. The pickup was found a short time later in the 6100 block of Barnes Road, police said.

Officer approached the truck and found two men — one fatally shot and the other wounded — inside. The wounded man was taken to a hospital.

The police did not release any information on a suspect or the shooter. Police said there is no immediate danger to the public from the incident.
