License plate left at the scene. A patrolling Thornton police officer found a set of tire marks in the snow that led to a damaged light pole at the intersection of 128th Avenue and Lincoln Street. A license plate was tangled around the pole. Police found the owner of the car at his house and ticketed him.
Family brawl. A man went over to his daughter’s house Dec. 30 in the 7100 block of Colorado 2, Commerce City, because she was fighting with her boyfriend. More members of the girls’ family showed up and everyone started fighting. One woman with pepper spray accidentally sprayed the wrong people.
Check fraud. A woman who lives in the 11800 block of Washington Street, Northglenn, put an employment resume online and got a call Jan. 11 from a man running a secret shopper scam. The man sent her a fake check, which she cashed and deposited into his bank account.
Ex cuts breakers. Police were called to the 10600 block of Irma Drive, Northglenn, by a woman whose electricity was suspiciously cut off from the outside breaker box Jan. 10. She told police she suspected her ex husband, who is constantly harassing her.
Missing jewelry. A woman called police to her home in the 650 block of Planet Place, Thornton, on Dec. 17 because she suspected that a new employee of her cleaning service stole her wedding ring. There was no evidence.
Dogs at large. Police caught two dogs that were running through neighborhoods in the 7800 block of Locust Street, Commerce City, and brought them back to their owners Jan. 2. One man was ticketed.
