Snapchat showdown. Police investigated reports of harassment after two high school boys in Castle Rock got into a text exchange Jan. 9 during which one threatened to kill the other. The dispute started when one boy used the mobile app Snapchat to send a picture of his genitals to a female friend of the other boy. The other boy challenged the sender to a fight, and told the sender he would “need facial reconstruction” after he was done. No charges were filed.
Nickle and dime. A man’s car was broken into overnight Jan. 26 in the 1900 block of Overview Drive, Castle Rock. The only thing missing was change from the cup holder.
Wallet walks away. A man’s wallet and $440 vanished after he paid for a meal at the Waffle House, 222 E. Wolfensberger Road, Castle Rock, Jan. 15. The man said he left a $20 on the counter, and went outside to talk on his cellphone. When he crossed the street to buy cigarettes he realized his wallet was gone. It was not found inside the Waffle House and security footage provided no clues.
Impaired driver underage. A car was stopped on Jordan Road just south of Lincoln Avenue in Parker Jan. 28 because it was traveling down the wrong side of the divided roadway. The unidentified, underage driver was under the influence of alcohol and was arrested.
Scary speeder. An unidentified driver was pulled over for going 80 mph in the 55-mph zone in the 13700 block of Parker Road, Parker, Jan. 18. The driver was under the influence of drugs or alcohol and did not have a license or insurance.
