Getting your player ready...

Bryce Peters generally isn’t the shy sort. And so he certainly doesn’t have reservations about describing himself as a bundle of energy that simply needs to be let loose from time to time.

During Thursday nightap win against Washington, Peters unleashed that pent-up energy in a series of highlight-reel dunks, with the freshman adding a career-best six assists in another inspired effort that continued his recent surge off the CU bench.

“It just happens,” Peters said. “I just have a lot of built-up energy, and on the court is where I can release my energy. Everybody knows I’m the most energetic guy on the team and I talk the most. Getting dunks and highlight plays like that that get the crowd up, thatap what I live for.”

Peters went 5-for-8 from the field and finished with 10 points as CU posted its fourth win in five games. After beginning the season serving a two-game suspension for a violation of team rules, Peters reached double-figure points just once in the next 18 games. He has hit that mark three times in the past five games, averaging nine points per game during that span while going 16-for-29 from the floor.

Perhaps the most encouraging aspect of Peters’ performance Thursday was his assist total. The 6-foot-4 guard had not recorded more than two assists in any game this season, finally displaying another aspect of the all-around skills that head coach Tad Boyle has lauded since Peters signed with the Buffs.
