Gov. John Hickenlooper is shuffling his communications team as he enters the final two years of his term.

The Democrat announced Friday he hired Marie Logsden to serve in a new role as director of strategic communications and Jacque Montgomery will join as press secretary.

The reorganization came after the governor’s top spokeswoman, Kathy Green, resigned in January to start a private consulting firm. Hickenlooper’s interim communications director, Holly Shrewsbury, will step down, effective March 15, to enter private practice, the announcement said.

Logsden spent the past 13 years at Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains, where she most recently served as senior vice president of communications. She will make $135,000 a year.

Montgomery, a former broadcast journalist, most recently served as executive communications consultant at Kaiser Permanente Colorado. She will make $130,000 a year.

The two new hires start Feb. 22.
