Trespassing. Arvada police reported to a vacant house in the 7800 block of West 51st Avenue on Feb. 2 where they found two suspects loading their car with copper pipe and light fixtures that they had taken from the house. Once in custody, the two suspects said there had been a third party with them who must have fled when he saw police. The suspects were cited with unlawful entry and told to put the stolen items back.
DUI. On Feb. 3, Arvada officers arrived in the area of West 60th Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard in response to a report of drunken driving. The reporting party said a female suspect had crashed her vehicle and fled on foot. When police contacted the suspect she admitted she had been out with friends and drank too much, but then became uncooperative with officers, refusing to answer questions or participate in sobriety tests of any kind. She was booked, charged with driving under the influence and released.
Restraining order violation. An Arvada police officer pulled over a speeding car at the intersection of West 57th Avenue and Colorado State Highway 121 on Feb. 4. Officers discovered the driver was under a retraining and protection order that stated he was not to consume or possess alcohol or controlled substances. Officers then found a bag of marijuana in the car. The suspect was taken to the police department for booking.
Suspicious activity. On Feb. 5, Arvada police officers were called to the 9000 block of Fig Street in reference to suspicious activity. A resident had checked the footage of a camera on her front porch to find video of an unknown man wearing dark clothes, sunglasses and a ballcap approach her front porch, pick up a recently delivered Amazon package, examine it, set it back down and leave. The resident sent photos to her HOA and also to the police officers.
