Caught in the act. A man living in the 6000 block of Castlegate Drive West, Castle Rock, went to put something in his car just after midnight Jan. 30 when he noticed his driver’s side door was already ajar. As he approached the car, an unknown man exited the driver’s seat and ran to a waiting van with temporary tags and fled the area. Nothing appears to have been stolen.
Oil slick. A man living on Turner Court in Castle Rock reported someone poured motor oil on his sidewalk and a tree in his backyard Jan. 21. He said on old van that had been parked on the side of his home for two months and was now gone. He did not know who owned the van but believes they may have spread the oil.
Second time is the charm. A woman was arrested for vehicular eluding near the intersection of Yosemite Street and C-470 in Lone Tree on Feb. 2. The suspect was being stopped for a routine traffic stop but drove off. Another officer intercepted her a short time later.
Shade smuggler. The staff at the Sunglass Hut located inside the Park Meadows mall, 8505 Park Meadows Center Drive, Lone Tree, reported that a man approached the kiosk Feb. 4, took two pairs of sunglasses and fled the area. Police were unable to locate the suspect. Total loss estimated at $400.
Shoplifting call turns up paraphernalia. Officers responding to a shoplifting call in the 8600 block of Park Meadows Center Drive, Lone Tree, Feb. 3 and located an adult male suspect. The man was carrying drug paraphernalia. He was issued a summons.
