The Denver Post and McCormick Foundation will distribute $2.3 million to local nonprofits that address youth education, homelessness, hunger, and health and wellness.
Season To Share raised more than $1,533,600 from more than 4,500 donors during the 2016-17 campaign. The McCormick Foundation matched the amount by 50 percent, adding $766,800. The nonprofits receiving the grants will be announced in July.
“The generosity of our community is truly amazing,” Denver Post publisher Mac Tully said in a statement. “This impressive amount, $2.3 million, will make a huge impact on our community and give those who do such great work for others the capacity to continue, grow or create life-changing programs. We are so grateful to all who chose to donate.”
The largest donation to the Season To Share campaign was from MDC Richmond American Homes Foundation.
