After getting a tip, Brighton police have arrested a 32-year-old man on suspicion of patronizing a child prostitute.
Benjamin Allen Holtry, of Fort Lupton, was taken into custody on Sunday afternoon without incident.
Investigators say Holtry posted an advertisement on Craigslist which was brought to the attention of police by a concerned citizen.
“Police detectives, posing as the stepfather of a fictitious underage female, conversed with Holtry via e-mail and text message for several days,” Brighton police said in a news release. “Holtry ultimately made arrangements to meet with the girl on Sunday afternoon, and had negotiated terms to engage in sexual activities with her in exchange for money.”
Holtry was arrested at an apartment complex when he arrived to meet the non-existent girl, according to police.
