The suspect suffered non-life-threatening injuries at 5:26 a.m. on the 7200 block of 47th Avenue, said technician Tyrone Campbell, Denver police spokesman. The person’s gender and age has not been released.
The incident began in Commerce City and then spilled over into Denver, he said.
Denver detectives will investigate the circumstances of the shooting.
It’s unclear how many Commerce City police officers fired their weapons and how many times the suspect was shot. No police officers were injured during the shooting.
The facts leading up to the shooting are sketchy. The investigation is in the beginning stages, Campbell said.
“Our job is to be correct, not fast,” he said.
