Transamerica to add 200 Denver employees by end of year

Open positions include marketing, distribution and sales, customer care, operational functions.

 is growing its presence in downtown Denver.

The Baltimore-based life insurance and financial services organization will add 200 employees in Denver by the end of the year, bringing its total downtown workforce to about 700, the company announced Tuesday.

Open positions include marketing, distribution and sales, customer care and operational functions.

“Expanding our employee base across these various functions demonstrates our commitment to and emphasis on building Denver as one of Transamerica’s primary hubs in providing support to all our business lines across the organization,” chief operations officer Blake Bostwick said in statement.

, encompassing 121,000 square feet in the city’s second-tallest building. In 2015, the firm , becoming a visible part of the . Transamerica also sponsors the .

Nationwide, Transamerica employs about 9,000 people. The Denver expansion is partially a result of company efforts to close and consolidate facilities elsewhere in the country, officials said.
