People already drink beer and eat food for their own enjoyment. Why not do it for science, too?
The Denver Museum of Nature and Science is hosting an official research study led by taste expert Nicole Garneau to . The results from the event on March 2 will be collected and analyzed to see if researchers can understand the science behind why certain pairings are satisfying.
The 200 attendees taste three beers as they eat a three-course vegetarian dinner. Participants will judge each beer, food item and pairings on scales of sweet, sour, salty, umami and bitter. They will then rank their preference for each dish alone compared to paired with each beer.
