
to escape when deputies stopped the vehicle to arrest them, were apprehended Wednesday night, according to the Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office.

Nicholas Alexander Ameral and his cousin, Benjamin Weeks, both 19, were wanted in connection with the robbery of a Carbondale convenience store on Feb. 16.
Law enforcement tracked the men to a location on Frying Pan Road in Eagle County through clues gleaned from a cellphone belonging to one of the suspects.
“At around 9 pm., information learned from the cellular provider, obtained by court order, directed officers to a location several miles up Frying Pan Road, in Eagle County,” according to a release.
Officers spotted the vehicle returning to the Basalt area, tried to stop it, and when the suspects continued driving, gave chase.
The vehicle stopped on South Cottonwood Drive, and the two were found hiding in the car. They were taken into custody without incident.
Both were suffering from exposure-related injuries from their time in the back country and were taken to hospitals.
On Tuesday morning, the two jumped from a Roaring Fork Transportation Authority bus heading toward Glenwood Springs.
the bus driver recognized the teens and contacted police. According to the newspaper, the bus driver told his passengers as officers approached that he must have crossed a traffic line and was going to get a ticket.
About 25 officers from several different law enforcement agencies, as well as an aircraft from the Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control equipped with imaging equipment, searched the area for the men.
