East 96th Avenue in Commerce City, between Tower Road and E-470, will shut down in both directions for three weeks beginning Monday so that road work can be completed.

Crews will be improving the intersection of Tower Road and East 96th Avenue intersection during that time.

Drivers who typically use E. 96th  to access or exit E-470 should use E. 104th Avenue or Peña Boulevard instead. Drivers heading southbound on Tower Road will still be able to make a right onto E. 96th Avenue to access the Buckley Road detour.

Tower Road remains closed between E. 88th and E. 96th avenues through April. Drivers should continue the detour on E. 88th and Buckley Road. The Tower Road widening project is one of five projects in Commerce City’s voter-approved capital improvement program.
