Thousands stripped down to their skivvies Saturday in 40 degree weather for , a four-hour party to benefit the Children’s Tumor Foundation and neurofibromatosis that happened to have a 1-mile run in it.
Regional Market Manager Amelia Zommer said NF causes tumors to grow all over the body, specifically on the nervous system. “The reason we run in our undies is because people who have NF have tumors all over them and they don’t really feel comfortable sometimes being in public or even leaving the house,” Zommer said. “So we are doing this to be in our own skin as well.”
