Sunny and breezy in Denver Monday, but expect snow Tuesday

Up to an inch of snow could fall Tuesday in the Denver metro area

Sunshine and brisk winds out of the southwest are in Monday’s forecast for Denver.

The high temperature will be around 51 degrees and wind speeds will gust up to 28 mph, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.

But snow returns to the forecast Tuesday with a 40 percent chance flakes will fall after 11 a.m. Less than an inch of snow is expected. Expect mostly cloudy skies and high near 37 degrees.

The weather service predicts between 2 to 6 inches of new snow will fall through Tuesday in the mountains.

The weather service predicts sunny skies Wednesday with a high near 40 degrees.

Temperatures will continue to heat up through the remainder of the week, according to the forecast.

It will be mostly sunny with a high of 45 on Thursday, 57 on Friday and 64 on Sunday, the NWS says.

On Sunday the high will be around 61 degrees, according to forecasters.
