
Tie guys. An area resident called police Feb. 4 after seeing at least three men picking up railroad ties from the property of an old train depot near the intersection of Prairie Hawk Drive and Topeka Way, Castle Rock. The caller believed the men were stealing the ties. They were loading them into trucks. The regional officer with the BNSF Railway, which owns the property, said no one from BNSF had been there that day and no one was authorized to be on the property. The case has been deactivated for lack of suspect information.
Caught on camera. On Feb. 4, a security company called Castle Rock police to report that two people were trespassing in a fenced-off construction site in the 6200 block of Castlegate Drive West, Castle Rock. The company was monitoring the site via camera. When police arrived, the two suspects were gone. Officers secured one of two unlocked gates on the property.
Wandering wallet. A man forgot his wallet inside Castle Pines Wine and Spirits, 62 Founders Parkway, Castle Rock, Feb. 15. When he came back 20 minutes later, it was gone. The wallet contained $350 in cash. The victim was later notified his debit card had been used to transfer money to an unknown person and make purchases online and at the liquor store.Half baked. A driver was pulled over at the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and Twenty Mile Road, Parker, Feb. 19 after failing to use a turn signal. The driver had been using marijuana and was under the legal age to do so. The person were arrested for driving under the influence and illegal possession.
