Grammy-winning parody musician and nerd king will appear at the sixth annual Denver Comic Con this summer, organizers announced this morning.

“Weird Al,” a.k.a. 57-year-old Lynwood, Calif. native Alfred Matthew Yankovic, will attend all three days of the 2017 comics, sci-fi, gaming and cosplay convention as a celebrity guest for signings and paid photo ops. He will also participate in various panel programs to be scheduled and announced at a later date, organizers said.

There are no plans for Yankovic to perform any music at the moment.

“Weird Al” joins previously announced Denver Comic Con guests such as “Stranger Things” co-stars Gaten Matarazzo and Caleb McLaughlin, Lou Ferrigno, Eliza Dushku (“Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” “Dollhouse”), Felicia Day (“Supernatural”), Wallace Shawn (“The Princess Bride”), Finn Jones (Marvel’s upcoming “Iron Fist,” “Game of Thrones”), Billie Piper (“Doctor Who”) and Bonnie Wright (“Harry Potter”).

The June 30-July 2 event, a programming arm of the nonprofit Pop Culture Classroom, will feature more than 400 hours of programming with artists, creators, celebrities and industry experts, and an unusually “family-friendly mission and environment.”

The largest portion of the show floor, more than 9,000 square feet, “is dedicated to teens and children with activities designed to engage kids in education through pop culture,” DCC organizers said in a press release.

The Denver Comic Con last year , making it one of the biggest pop-culture gatherings in the nation.
